4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor, or going for treatment. You may also contact 1-800-424-9300 for emergency medical treatment information.

IF IN EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice / attention.

IF SWALLOWED: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Do not give any liquid to the person. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by the poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

IF ON SKIN OR CLOTHING: Wash with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Call a doctor or poison control center if you feel unwell.

IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a doctor or poison control center if you feel unwell.

Fire and Explosion Hazards: Product will not burn unless sufficient water is evaporated. Once sufficient water has been evaporated, this product will exhibit flammability characteristics of the organic portion of the formulation.

Fire Fighting Equipment: Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and turnout gear.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Clean up spills immediately observing the precautions in Section 8 of this SDS. For small spills, cover spill with absorbent material and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. For large spills, dike spill and prevent material from entering sewers, waterways or low areas. Recover as much material as possible for reuse, and then handle the remaining material as a small spill using the instructions above.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling: Avoid breathing of spray mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using tobacco.

Storage: Store in original container only. Do not store near feed or foodstuffs. In case of leak or spill, use absorbent materials to contain liquids and dispose as waste.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering Controls: Handle only with adequate ventilation. Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash station and a safety shower.

Protective Clothing: Use NIOSH approved respirator, chemical goggles and a full face shield, chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material such as polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride and a protective suit.

General: Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

Follow use directions carefully so as to minimize adverse effects on nontarget organisms. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Trees, turf, and shrubs growing in water treated with Alligare Fluridone may occasionally develop chlorosis. Do not apply in tidewater/brackish water. Lowest rates should be used in shallow areas where the water depth is considerably less than the average depth of the entire treatment site, for example, shallow shoreline areas.
